The Foxdown collection of memorabilia began with previous Fox generations being reluctant to discard items of interest over a period of nearly 150 years. Many more items have been donated, swapped and purchased resulting in
an eclectic assortment of items from our history which is now displayed across two sheds on the farm.
From Andy’s uniquely rural collection of different examples of barbed wire to household items from 150 years ago the items in the collection are many and varied and there is bound to be something that will bring back memories for everyone – even if it’s the (still greasy) KFC box from the mid-1970s.
Two further sheds house classic cars that Andy and his good friend Brian Stevenson have put together with over 50 years of combined collecting. The cars include a 1911 Cadillac, a 1922 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, a 1937 (coffin nose) Cord and, thanks to Brian’s Holden addiction, probably Canterbury’s most extensive collection of Holden Commodores.
