October has begun and so has the countdown to the 2022 Hurunui Garden Festival.
From Thursday October 27th through to Sunday 30th October. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the fifth Hurunui Garden Festival. This year the festival is showcasing 25 gardens/homesteads/artists and collections in six cluster areas throughout the Hurunui Region.
Each property will be open daily from 9am - 5pm.
Admission is by ticket entry or cash on the day at the gate (gardens cannot process electronic payments). $10 per person (children of school age are free when accompanied by an adult).
Our owners are ready and looking forward to welcoming YOU to their homes.

The guidebook contains fantastic information on all the properties, events (some you need to book for), amenities, maps and everything you will need for your festival visit. It is available to download on our website hurunuigardenfestival.com
Good idea to wear good walking shoes, have sunscreen and a sunhat, a rain jacket (in preparation for all eventualities of weather). Remember your picnic lunches and bring a carry bag for any purchases you make, as many properties have stalls selling a variety of items.

image during the Hurunui Garden Festival to be in to win a 2 night mid-week stay for 2 people at the luxurious Foxdown Hut.

A reminder
The Hurunui Garden Festival Inc Scholarship is open now till October 31st.
The committee is united in following its ethos of being inspirational and supportive to the residents of the Hurunui so in any given year that the Festival Inc makes a reasonable profit, it will give one student (or more) graduating from secondary school and whose family home is within the Hurunui District boundary, a scholarship to the value of up to $2000 towards their study in horticulture, agriculture, landscape design or a similar related field at their choice of tertiary institute. The scholarship is also open to any home-schooled student who will be going onto study in these related fields at a tertiary institution too.
How does the student apply?
The student needs to write a very brief (no more than one page) letter to the HGF committee outlining the following:
Who they are
Their contact details
What course / qualification they are going to study and where
Why they have chosen this study pathway and what is their dream job
Include a reference from a teacher or Principal
Include a reference from a family friend or neighbour outlining why the student applying would be a worthy recipient of the scholarship.
When can the student apply?
