November 2023

Welcome to our November newsletter

Thank you!

The organising committee would like to extend our gratitude to all of the visitors who braved the weather and came to enjoy the spectacular gardens.

The garden owners put so much effort into making sure their gardens are the best they can be, and nothing is more rewarding than lots of smiling faces walking through the gates!

Who would have thought that we would not only be battling high winds making messes and downing trees right before the festival, but also hail and snow on the Friday! Thankfully Saturday and Sunday turned out brilliantly. It was great to see our garden owners kept their sense of humour during their battles with Mother Nature, visitors enjoyed the use of garden ornaments to make a statement out of the stumps at Red Oak.

Although we are a 'Garden Festival,' it is often so much more. Creativity and knowledge was shared in an abundance with workshops, music, art, food and guided tours and talks all making this years event extra special. Thank you so much to all of our vendors who took part this year. Your presence means there truly is something for everyone at the Festival!

Happy gardening, from the 2023 HGF Organising Committee

2023 Scholarship Update

We have just closed the applications for the Hurunui garden Festival Scholarship, which is awarded to a student residing in the Hurunui District who is moving on to study in horticulture, agriculture, landscape design or similar. We look forward to sharing the successful recipient with you in the next newsletter.
