March 2024

Welcome to our March newsletter

We’re back!

2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the Hurunui Garden Festival. Our opening dates will be Thursday 31st October through until Sunday 3rd of November, with gardens and homesteads available to view between 9am and 5pm.

This year, we will have 21 gardens throughout the district as well as two historic homesteads. Of the 21 gardens, four are brand new gardens which have never been seen before in our festival! We welcome Brackenbank in Amberley, Toi Toi in the Greta Valley, Terrace View in Rotherham and Top Cottage in Culverden. Lyndon Historic Homestead in Waiau is opening it's doors for tours for the first time and is a great addition alongside the much loved, Tipapa Estate. Cathedral Cliffs is also making a return to the festival for 2024.

The 2024 ticket prices will be the same as previous years. Gardens: $10 cash or one pre purchased ticket at each gate. Historic Homesteads: $20 cash per person. Keep an eye out on these newsletters and our social media for the announcement of early bird ticket sales. They are a great way to pre purchase tickets in a bundle and get your guide sent with them in the mail.

2023 Scholarship Update

The 2023 Hurunui Garden Festival Inc Scholarship was awarded to two recipients. Congratulations to Will Clark (Culverden) and Briana Hodgen (Hawarden) who were our successful candidates. Both gained funding towards their studies in agriculture at Lincoln University.
